Greater Denton Arts Council is proud to present the 32nd annual Materials Hard + Soft International Contemporary Craft Competition and Exhibition. This year's exhibition features 68 works from artists all over the world selected by this year's juror Janet McCall, executive director of Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Recognized as one of the premier craft exhibitions in the country, Materials: Hard + Soft began in 1987 and was originally initiated by area artist Georgia Leach Gough. Now in its 32nd year, we celebrate the evolving field of contemporary craft and the remarkable creativity and innovation of artists who push the boundaries of their chosen media. The exhibition includes artworks in the following media; glass, wood, fibers, ceramics, mixed media, and other non-traditional media. Artists from the DFW metroplex area and as far away as Taiwan and Germany are represented.
Catalogs are available on-site and online.
This exhibition is funded in part by the city of Denton, the Texas Commission on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
