USA Film Festival presents the 35th Annual KidFilm Family Film Festival

Angelika Film Center - Mockingbird Station

On Saturday & Sunday, January 19 and 20, 2019, the USA Film Festival will present the 35th Annual KidFilm, the oldest and largest children’s film festival in the United States.

Thanks to our wonderful Sponsors, all programs will be presented FREE to the community! Film and video are our most accessible art forms and some of our most valuable teaching and learning tools. KidFilm gives audiences of all ages an opportunity to see and discuss great films and important topics together! With this year's program, we salute one of our favorite children's book author, illustrator, and TV series creator, as well as celebrate diversity and tolerance, the importance of friends and family, animated adventures, imaginative journeys, creativity, nature, and perseverance.

KidFilm welcomes our special guest author/illustrator Marc Brown. Marc is one of the most prominent names in children’s literature. When his son Tolon was young, Marc began telling him bedtime stories (mostly about animals). One night, he told the story of an Aardvark who hated his nose. This aardvark was named Arthur and that story became Arthur’s Nose, the first book in the Arthur Adventure series. What began as a simple family ritual soon grew into a full-time profession for best-selling children's author and illustrator Marc Brown. Currently, Marc has written more than 100 Arthur books over a 35-year time span and is the creator of the EmmyAward winning PBS television series “Arthur” -- which broadcasts in over 80 countries and is now the longest running animated children’s show in history.
