Global Sustainability


Lake Highlands High School

Come hear Dr. Maria V. Boccalandro speak on global sustainability on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the Lake Highlands High School Library, 4:15-5:15 p.m.

Dr. Boccaladro is a sustainable urban planner with a master's degree in urban transportation and a Ph.D. in political science. She is the Sustainability Director for Cedar Valley College of the Dallas County Community College District. She in charge of planning, developing, coordinating and administrating the sustainability awareness initiatives and projects with internal and external stakeholders. She has been leading a multi-stakeholder sustainable economic development planning process, that includes important organizations such as: The Greater Dallas Planning Council, The Best Southwest Partnership (12 city coalition), North Central Texas Council of Governments, Dallas Rapid Transit, University of North Texas, Paul Quinn College, Oncor Electric Delivery, Keep Dallas Beautiful and the city of Dallas.  

Dr. Boccalandro has almost thirty years of teaching associate, bachelor and postgraduate courses in community colleges and universities in the US and Latin America. For eighteen years she worked as a consultant supporting her clients in strategic planning, organizational development, project management, coaching and workforce training.
