Memories in the Making Program & Creative Arts Workshops for Caregivers

Irving Arts Center

Irving Arts Center presents a new program of concurrent art workshops for persons with Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related illnesses and their caregivers.

While their family member or friend is participating in a separate Alzheimer’s Association art program (Memories in the Making), caregivers will have the opportunity to relax, learn and engage with activities in the visual arts, music, and more offered in our series of Creative Arts Workshops designed just for them!

The program will be offered quarterly on the third Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.: Jan. 15, April 16, July 16 and Oct. 15.

Memories in the Making is a signature program of the Alzheimer’s Association developed to help people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia express themselves through art. Memories in the Making painting workshops are led by trained facilitators from the Alzheimer’s Association, Dallas & Northeast Texas Chapter in partnership with Lifetime Wellness, LTD.

Creative Arts Workshops for Caregivers are led by teaching artists and other creative arts professionals. Each quarter a new art form will be explored.

The program is free, but reservations are required and space is limited. Register at https://www.eventleaf.com/memoriesinthemaking
