Only a mastermind like Jerry Junkin could think up this concert. The Dallas Winds splits into two ensembles to wage a sonic tug-of-war between the melodic genius of Mozart and the mechanically inspired works of Varèse. Featuring cameo performances by Dallas Symphony flute David Buck and the Dallas Winds percussion section.
- Mozart: Gran Partita
- Mozart: Serenade No. 10 in Bb, K. 361
- Varèse: Octandre
- Varèse: Hyperprism
- Varèse: Density 21.5
- Varèse: Integrales
- Varèse: Ionisation
Be sure to join us at 6:30pm for Professor Carol's pre-concert lecture, 7:15pm for a World-Premier Fanfare, and again at intermission for a student meet-and-greet with the Dallas Winds musicians.
