Eric Wood, clarinet and Jeffery Ou, piano

Eric Wood graduated in May 2014 from the University of North Texas College of Music. At different points during his time at UNT, he was a member of the Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Nicholas Williams, the Symphonic Band under Dennis Fisher, the 8:00 Steel Band under Nicholas Guiliano, and the Gamelan ensemble under the direction of Ed Smith. Eric studied clarinet with Deborah Fabian, and composition with Dr. Panayiotis Kokoras. He had the honor of having two of his compositions selected and performed at “Spectrum”, a showcase for new UNT student works. He is affiliated with Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. As a composer, Eric strives to communicate with a clear tonal structure and easily accessible harmonic/ melodic ideas. As an instructor, he tries to fill his lessons with the same…clear structure and easily accessible ideas.

The career of Taiwanese-American pianist, conductor, singer and television personality JEFFERY OU (b. 1991) has taken him across 5 US states and 3 countries. In Europe, Jeffery holds Diplomas in Art Song and Opera from the Sankt Goar International Music Academy in Germany, and is an alumnus of the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. He was also invited in summer of 2016 to enroll in the Cornish-American Song Institute (CASI) in England. In the United States, he is a graduate of the world-renowned College of Music at the University of North Texas, where he was an Emerald Eagle Distinguished Scholar and completed both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance, under the guidance of Dr. Steven Harlos and Gustavo Romero.
