This exhibit features the photography of Jonathan Reynolds and the paintings and drawings of Sam Ivie. This collaboration featuring Reynolds’ photographs along with Ivie’s images is the result of a plan to engage in more artist-organized two-person and group exhibits. Painted or drawn portraits have a unique way of functioning with landscape photography. Displayed alongside each other, the mediums of color photography and painting form a dynamic exhibit because of their differences. Both artists use photography, with the main variant being one’s work is photography and the other’s use of the medium is a means to an end. For Ivie, it is reference material he uses along with imagery he primarily invents; for Reynolds, it is the medium itself.
