National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)


Irving Public Library: South Irving Library

Aspiring authors from the region - not to mention all over the world - join in a race against the clock starting Nov. 1 to write their own 50,000-word novel, approximately 175 pages, by 11:59 p.m. Nov. 30.

Come Write In: Space is always available at the libraries, with Wi-Fi, plenty of outlets, and comfortable chairs.

Teen NaNoWriMo at Valley Ranch Library, 401 Cimarron Trail:
-Young Writers Kick-Off, Nov. 1, 5:30 to 7 p.m.: Calling all budding writers: The Valley Ranch Library is starting National Novel Writing Month off with a bang! Pledge to write a novel or short story this month and join your fellow writers to discuss your novel project, exchange ideas, learn how to craft compelling characters, and storylines, and cheer each other on! For teens in grades 8 and up.
-NaNoWriMo Young Writers Wrap-Up Party: Nov. 29, 5:30 to 7 p.m.: Celebrate the end of National Novel Writing Month with food, fun, and prizes.

Adult NaNoWriMo at the West Irving Library, 4444 W. Rochelle Road:
-Irving Writers’ Salon NaNoWriMo Edition, Nov. 20, 7 to 9 p.m.: A plentiful supply of chocolate and camaraderie inspires you to write on!
