Carolyn Lee Jones

Chocolate Secrets & Wine Gardens

Carolyn Lee Jones entered the DFW Jazz scene in 2008. Though music was a large part of her formative years in Nebraska, she was lured to the big city of Dallas to pursue a career with luxury retailers. She happily traveled the world. Her love of music never ceased and she sought out opportunities to sing while flourishing in her first profession. Talented parents served as a catalyst to Carolyn’s second career. Her mother was an accomplished pianist and her father sang tenor.

Her musical career as a vocalist and bandleader was a natural next choice. Carolyn is living proof that is is possible to reinvent yourself. From classic jazz to vintage pop, she makes the standards sound new and the new sound standard. Influenced by such greats as Julie London, Anita O-Day and Shirley Horn to Diana Krall and Laura Nyro, her rich, silky vocals and extensive repertoire have endeared her to both fans and critics. She has released three successful CD’s on the independent Catn’round Sound label. From 2010 through 2015 Carolyn was a principal alto and soloist with The New Collection, a 20 voice a cappella jazz group led by well-known vocal jazz arranger and Professor Emeritus Paris Rutherford of the University of North Texas Vocal Jazz Department. In addition to her regular jazz repertoire, Miss Jones has also developed, produced, and performed a series of themed Cabaret jazz shows. Awarded the prestigious Cabaret Artist Of The Year 2017 by Sammons Center For The Arts in Dallas, Tx.

"Jones Attacks each song with the vigor of a wildcatter yet maintains a dusky under current that drips with sensuality” Jazz Times Reviewer – Christopher Loudon
