Ray LeBoeuf "Re-Emergence" - Open Studio Show


Dallas CreativeSpace (formerly Continental Gin Building Studios)

The Artist, Ray LeBoeuf, will be participating in the upcoming Open Studios event November 9th -10th at The Continental Gin Artist Loft Building located at 3309 Elm St. in Dallas, TX 75226, where he will be exhibiting select artworks created over the last 26 years.

His work is best known by his "Environment Series" which typically include stuffed animals heavily painted with acrylic paint to the point that they become sculptures (also called “Thorn Paintings”) as well as his "TV Pictures Series", which are long exposure photographs of the television.

After participating in his first group exhibition, “Media Life”, in 1992 at Ward-Nasse Gallery in Soho, New York curated by Robert Curcio, many other shows ensued, including Tribeca 148, Art Resources Transfer, Gale Gates gallery, RARE gallery, and the New York Law School.  Bill Arning selected him to be a member of the White Columns Slide Registry; He also participated in Studio Openings with Studio 47 in Midtown Manhattan.

Ray was invited to join the Artist Cooperative, Amos Eno Gallery in 1995 and was accepted unanimously by the Gallery Board, later he became a Board Member himself and provided conceptual guidance for several of the group shows there as well as assisting with the design of gallery announcements and invitations.  After a solo exhibition titled “Variety Show” at Amos Eno in 1998 which included the works “Affected”, and “The Achievement” he was invited to participate in the group Exhibition, “Photosynthesis” at RARE gallery in the Meatpacking District where he first exhibited his TV Pictures that were captured from the television.

In 2003, Ray moved back to his native Dallas, Texas.  Since then he has participated in shows at The CYA Design Collective, 500x gallery, The McKinney Avenue Contemporary, Kettle Art (a curated show by Art & Seek), and the Davis Foundry.
