Celtic Christmas with The Selkie Girls and Friends. The Selkie Girls will be performing material from their newly released Christmas CD "Winter Lore, Songs of Celtic Christmas." Joining the band will be the North TX School of Irish Music Gaelic Youth Chorus, Fiddler David Mehalko, Celtic Soprano MIsty Posey, Duet Harber Row and Harpist Sarah Copus.
Originally formed in 2013, The Selkie Girls have firmly established themselves as a mainstay in the North Texas folk music scene. Appearing throughout the country at Celtic festivals, the band captivates audiences with their unique instrumentation, lush harmonies and dynamic arrangements. The band draws upon a vast repertoire of ancient and contemporary ballads, traditional Irish and Scottish songs (often sung in the native tongue), and foot-stomping jigs and reels, creating a truly eclectic and affecting musical experience.
