Station Eleven author Emily St. John Mandel will appear for an Author Talk at the Farmers Branch Manske Library on Wednesday, October 24 at 6 p.m. as a kickoff to the NEA Big Read Program.
Presented in Farmers Branch in partnership with Brookhaven College, 3 Nations Brewery and the City of Farmers Branch, the Big Read focuses on Station Eleven and features an interview and book-signing with the author that evening.
The Manske Library is one of 79 communities nationwide participating in the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read. Farmers Branch will celebrate Station Eleven with a full calendar of events from October 15 through December 8. The dystopian tale has inspired upcoming events like Pandemic Game Night (October 26), Shakespeare for Survivors (November 1) and Gardening at the End of the World (December 1).
