Home Movie Day Dallas 2018

Top Ten Records

Observed annually in more than 20 countries since 2003, this year's International Home Movie Day Dallas venue is the historic Top Ten Records. The event’s primary sponsors are Top Ten Records, the Dallas Municipal Archives of the City of Dallas, and Spotlight North Texas. Top Ten and its co-sponsors will celebrate home movies with a community event on Saturday, October 20, from 2 to 5 p.m. Along with showcasing digitized curated selections from local collections, the event is screening 8mm, 16mm, and Super8mm home movies submitted by North Texans. Other event highlights include a film preservation table where visitors can learn tips from experts.

Do you own home movies? Home Movie Day offers an evaluation of films brought in by participants, as well as an opportunity to see your very own films in an open screening. If your film is in good condition and you think it’s worth showing, Home Movie Day will accept films for temporary loan beginning Monday, October 1 through Friday, October 12 at both Top Ten Records and the Dallas Municipal Archives.

Please contact City Archivist John Slate at (214) 670-5270 for full details. A public screening schedule will be posted by 5 p.m. CDT Friday, October 19th on the Home Movie Day Dallas Facebook page.
