Read to the Bump: A Block, A Bandana, and a Box

Plano Public Library System - Schimelpfenig Library

Are you expecting or caring for a newborn? Read to your "bump"; learn simple practices to support your baby's development and early literacy. Hear from specialists about preparing your child for success. December: In this interactive session, we’ll talk about how Mom, Dad, and a very few toys are the perfect ingredients for play. Walk down any toy aisle in your favorite store and you’ll notice that it’s almost impossible to find a baby toy that doesn’t have sounds and light and motion.   But, are these expensive toys really what our babies need?   Does your baby need a tablet computer before his/her first birthday? We’ll explore how play is the basic ingredient for stimulating your baby’s mind and setting the stage for healthy social, emotional, and intellectual development. Presented by UTD Center for Children and Families. Adults
