Here is the opportunity to preserve your grandmother’s photographs, your father’s World War II letters home, your old home movies and more.
Residents of Wichita Falls and the surrounding area are encouraged to participate in the upcoming History Harvest and Texas Film Round-Up at the Wichita Falls Public Library on Saturday, August 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Families are invited to bring old photos, films and videotapes, letters, journals and other documents for FREE digitization.
Participants are welcome to drop off films and videotapes in advance, during regular library hours every Friday, July 13, 20, 27, and August 3.
The History Harvest and Texas Film Round-Up are free and open to the public, and all ages are encouraged to attend. Free parking is available on site, including spaces for drivers with disabilities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view historic film clips from around Texas at the event.
Sponsoring local organizations include the Wichita Falls Public Library; Moffett Library, Midwestern State University; Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU Texas; Kemp Center for the Arts; The Museum of North Texas History; Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture; and Wichita County Heritage Society. Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Texas Archive of the Moving Image, in partnership with the Office of the Governor’s Texas Film Commission, will also sponsor the event.
