A Railroad Odyssey in Miniature! Opens July 18th at the Frisco Discovery Center (8004 N. Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75034). Presented by the Museum of the American Railroad, the 2,500 sq. ft. model train exhibit was donated by Jane Sanders and her daughters and made possible by Amanda and Brint Ryan.
This one-of-a-kind experience features running G-scale trains, a custom light show which takes the exhibit from daylight to nighttime, and hundreds of miniature automobiles and people. The exhibit spans Arizona to Texas, from the dramatic rock formations of the Four Corners region near New Mexico, to a thriving Northeast Texas in the early 1960s. Also featured is an animated downtown Dallas street scene, the Palo Duro Drive-In Theater with a movie playing, West Texas refineries and working sawmills in Colorado! With approximately ¼ mile of G-scale track, this exhibit is sure to please families of all ages. Tickets go on sale at HistoricTrains.org July 1st. The exhibit opens to the public July 18th at the Frisco Discovery Center. All aboard!
Hours of operation are Wednesday – Saturday 10 am to 5 pm & Sundays 1 pm to 5 pm.
