4- Day Watercolor With an Eye for Design Workshop

Artists who are ready to step beyond their standard way of painting will benefit most from this four-day watercolor workshop taught by esteemed artist Ratindra Das. The focus will be geared toward design, which, according to Das, is more than just painting a pretty picture. It’s deliberate -- a thinking process. The workshop will explore shapes and their relationships and placement on paper; how color dominance can achieve unity in a painting; “nature’s light” versus “artist’s light”; and adding verve to a painting through movement, flatness, calligraphy and bold colors.

Ratindra Das is a Dolphin Fellow and signature member of the American Watercolor Society, is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, and holds Distinguished Master status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. A popular workshop instructor worldwide, Ratindra has been featured in many national and international exhibitions. He is the author of Watercolor Beyond Obvious Reality and Watercolor With an Eye for Design.

The workshop takes place May 1-4 from 9:30 a.m to 4 p.m.
