In this three-day workshop taught by Texas artist Dyan Newton, beginning and intermediate artists will learn to paint with loose brushstrokes and to keep their paintings fresh, vibrant and spontaneous, with a strong emphasis on values. Students will paint two landscapes and one floral.
Dyan has been painting for nearly 40 years, working in acrylics, watercolors, pastels and oils. After studying with well-known local, national and international artists, she developed her own impressionistic style of painting, recognizable by her lively brushwork and vivid colors. A Signature Member of both the Artists of Texas and the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, she has won numerous awards throughout her career. Her paintings hang in private and corporate collections across the globe, and her work has been featured in Southwest Art Magazine, American Art Collector and Lubbock Magazine, and her paintings hang in private and corporate collections across the globe.
