Tito’s detailed carvings on dried gourds reflect testimonies of daily life in the Peruvian Andes, vicariously taking you to the region’s landscapes, harvests, celebrations and culture, as his family has done for five generations. His dedication to preserving and conveying the region’s traditions through the “mates burilados” artisanal craft recently earned Tito a certificate of excellence by the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture.
