Seeking Focus is an abstracted figurative exhibit that underscores the emotional stances we adopt in order to navigate life, to carry on through feelings of vulnerability. The exhibit consists of painted figurative works utilizing oil paint and wax on wood, clay, textiles or paper. Paintings and sculpture both large and small exhibit organic, textured surfaces through mark making, translucency, and color. Abstracted style and variation provide a myriad of avenues for gallery visitors to enter the work. It is the artist's goal that through Seeking Focus viewers can experience contemplative moments of self-reflection.
