Any Dallas or surrounding area high school student currently in grades 9 through 12 is eligible to audition for Junior Players' Season of Values- including the following productions:
-PUPFest- June 16, 2018 at Booker T. Washington HSPVA. Junior Players annual collaboration with Kitchen Dog and Dallas ISD (D-PAC) allows high school playwrights the opportunity to have their plays produced as they are mentored by some of Dallas’ most renowned playwrights. Each script that is chosen is paired with a cast of teen actors and directed by local professional actors and directors.
-Romeo and Juliet- July 24 - 29, 2018 at Samuell-Grand Park Amphitheatre. Junior Players collaboration with Shakespeare Dallas will be the classic, Romeo and Juliet. An ancient feud between the Montague and Capulet families disrupts the city of Verona and causes tragic results. Revenge, love and a secret marriage force the young star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, to grow up quickly — and fate forces them to an early death.
-Junior Players Presents: Extinction- August 17 - 18, 2018. The fourth installation of a 5-year dance production series, dance series provides a glimpse of what challenges exist within our teen communities and family ecosystems. The issues are real, the teens are real and the experience is life changing.
To audition you will need:
1) A Shakespearean Monologue AND a Contemporary Monologue Memorized- 1 minute each. (If you are only interested in our dance performance, this is not required).
2) 3 Copies of Recent Photo or Headshot
3) 3 Copies of a Resume of your Theatrical Experience
4) Be Prepared to Learn a Dance Combination
Auditions are held on Saturday , pril 21 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Kurth Hall at the Sammons Center for the Arts and Callbacks will be held on April 28 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Kurth Hall at the Sammons Center for the Arts.
