Nights in Prague - Jazz

The Kitchen Café

Felix Slovàček, Sr. is one of the best known Czech musicians, a household name. He has been awarded the Czech Republic’s highest civilian honor for contributions to Czech culture.  A master soprano saxophonist and clarinetist, he has performed classical, jazz, and popular music with orchestras across Europe and has led his own orchestra for decades, but this is his first trip to America.  Felix Slovàček, Jr. also plays soprano sax and clarinet, performing classical, jazz, and popular music.  He is a well-known conductor, composer, dramaturge, actor, and singer.  Russian pianist Vyacheslav Grokhovsky, Jr. is a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory and prizewinner of international competitions.  The son of a famous Russian conductor, he is Chief Director of the International Eduard Napravnik Music Festival in the Czech Republic.

Tony Hakim’s Kitchen Cafe is the top Jazz Cabaret in North Texas.  Tony is collaborating with Blue Candlelight’s Artistic Director, pianist Baya Kakouberi, and Board Member, violinist Gary Levinson, to present an evening of the sophisticated, urbane vibe of Eastern European jazz.

This will be a unique offering by Blue Candlelight and The Kitchen Cafe, not performed anywhere else in the USA.  The concert is Monday, January 29 with tickets available at Blue Candlelight on-line and at the door for $20.
