Texture

In the visual arts, texture is the perceived surface quality of a work of art.

Using texture adds emphasis to the desired effect. For the most part, Manuel relies on texture as a major element in projecting emotional content, with color being the minor.His work utilizes a variety of vibrant and dull colors. These are used as a metaphor for the unique human personalities. He uses this to elicit emotional responses from people who view his work. The reasons for doing so vary greatly, but Manuel conveys a variety of messages and emotions. Inspired by the human psyche; the kaleidoscope of emotions generated in our minds, the push and pull feeling of being weighed down mentally while looking for strength during an internal struggle.

He chooses to present his work in strong, bold colors, with an overall reliance for diverse formats to express himself. Manuel works with a variety of media, ranging from Photography, Glass, and Encaustic.
