Fannie Brito's ethereal and atmospheric paintings are currently featured in the Arts Center's Carpenter Lobby gallery. Through the sensuous blending of color, text, imagery and emotions, an internal dialogue of abstract expression between the artist and her media invites the viewer to see the world through the prism of Brito’s soul. A process that begins with free thought journaling on a blank canvas evolves through the layering and subtraction of raw pigments, oils and acrylics until the words are obscured and the subconscious revealed - a place where language and emotion become color and light.
