Holiday at the Ballet

Guest Choreographer Carter Alexander premieres a work set to Antonio Vivaldi’s “L’inverno” movement of The Four Seasons. Mr. Alexander’s work fuses contemporary with ballet for six dancers and incites all the excitement and flurry of Winter! Contemporary Ballet Dallas is premiering a work by local choreographer Laura Pearson. Ms. Pearson’s work summons the new beginnings the holiday season tends to inspire in all of us.

CBD is excited to be re-staging Robert Beard’s Ceremony of Carols. Robert Beard was formerly with the Martha Graham Dance Company He is the prolific choreographer and known for his command of the Graham technique. Ceremony of Carols is set to Benjamin Britten’s choral piece, “Ceremony of Carols” and is a moving, sweeping work.

And finally, CBD and the School of CBD Youth Performing Ensemble present Clara’s Dream, featuring favorite dances within Act II of The Nutcracker! Share the wonder with Clara as she takes us to the Land of Sweets. Clara’s Dream is staged by Allison Watson-Festner and features choreography by Mrs. Watson-Festner, Carter Alexander & Adrian Aguirre. The professional company and the Youth Performing Ensemble share the stage for the dances of Arabian, Spanish, Chinese, Mirlitons, the Sugar Plum Fairy & more!
