Denton Holiday Lighting Festival 2017

Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum

Capture the true spirit of a small-town holiday celebration at the 29th Annual Holiday Lighting Festival on Friday, December 1, 2017, on Denton’s Historic Square.

There will be plenty of live local music, food, family fun and joyful holiday spirit for this one-of-a-kind community event! The event is free with some food and activities available for purchase; all we ask is that you bring n unwrapped toy for our toy drive benefitting Elves Shelves.

This beloved community event, held on the second Friday following Thanksgiving, includes musical and dance presentations, horse-drawn carriage rides, children’s crafts and visits with Santa. Live entertainment is provided by talented local musicians and the Denton Community Band, which has been a part of the celebration since its inception.

Holiday Lighting coincides with Denton Main Street Association’s annual Wassail Weekend. During Wassail Weekend, downtown merchants stir up their favorite Wassail recipe and serve it to tasters on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Tasting is free and open to all.

Photos with Santa will be $7, no pets allowed.

Horse Drawn Wagon Rides will be $5, under 2 free.

Food and drinks will be available to purchase from local vendors and restaurants.

Free parking is available at the MedPark Station with a free short A-train ride to Downtown Denton using the Secret Code Word “Gingerbread”! Free parking is available at the Wells Fargo Bank, St. Andrew Presbyterian and Denton County Historical Park Parking Lots. Disabled Parking is located on the west side of the Wells Fargo building on Locust Street.
