October: fall leaves, pumpkin spice, crisp apples, and the start of long cool nights. Enjoy the fall season with us by spending an evening looking at the stars at the Farmers Branch Historical Park. Our October Star Party will include views of the moon, Neptune, Saturn, Open Star Clusters, Globular Star Clusters, Double Stars, Planetary Nebulae, and more! Guests are encouraged to come alone, with a date, or with the whole family, including Fido, provided he’s on a leash. Picnics and blankets are encouraged! You are invited to bring your own telescope, binoculars, or to use the wide variety of telescopes provided by members of the Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas. TASD members will also be on hand to answer questions and bring the sky into focus. The Star Party will be on Tuesday, October 10th. In the event of rain, the alternate weather date is Thursday, October 12th. The event will be held from sunset to 9 PM. These viewings are free and open to the public.
