In 1907, Denton resident AG Lee decided to build a massive rock pyramid on his farm as a monument to John D. Rockefeller. Though Lee gathered a massive, 100-foot pile of boulders to start building the base, the monument was never built.
What is left of the rock pile stands as a markerstone to Denton's quirky history. If you love unique stories, you'll want to join us as we hear local Denton historian Mike Cochran talk about the story of "the pyramid that never was." See you there!
