3 - Day Musical Theater Intensive- How to Audition (Grades 5-12)


Dallas Children's Theater

LEVEL A: For beginners and those with some experience in Musical Theater training
or students who have completed Musical Theater 1 at DCT. ENTERING GRADES 5-12.

LEVEL B: For intermediate and advanced students who have completed Musical
Theater 2 training or higher at DCT. ENTERING GRADES 6-12.

Techniques for the best Singing and Dancing Audition Experience
K. Doug Miller, DCT’s Director of Musical Theater, Pam Holcomb-McLain, Music Director, and Kelly McCain, Choreographer, share techniques for how to succeed in your next Musical Theater Audition. This exciting new Intensive will cover resumes, pictures, cold readings, what to wear and how to prepare.
• Sing and get a great 16 bar cutting of a song that shows off your best voice.
• Dance and learn what to expect at most dance auditions.
• Try-out and participate in a Mock audition with special guest directors.*
*And get feed back on how to improve to do your best.
• Extra Bonus - Students will have a special Improv Workshop on Friday to explore how Improvisation techniques can help Musical Theater Performers shine in an audition.
Level placement at DCTs discretion.

$50 Deposit, $200 Tuition
