Don't miss the final concert of Spectrum's 20th season at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth.
This concert begins with the delightfully quirky Four 2-bit contraptions for Flute and Horn by contemporary American composer Jan Bach, performed by flutist Bethany Padgett and hornist Aaron Pino.
Next, the dark and dramatic String Quartet No. 8 by Dmitri Shostakovich will be turned even darker through a unique arrangement for four string basses, featuring three of the members of the University of North Texas-based bass quartet, Bassinova (Daniel Nix, Aaron Olguin and Gustavo Mazon Finessi), along with special guest artist, renowned UNT Professor of Bass, Jeff Bradetich.
The program lightens up again to conclude with a performance of the delightful String Quartet in G Major, K. 387 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, featuring Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra musicians Kathryn Perry and Tanya Smith, violins, Sorin Guttman, viola, and Lesley Cleary Putnam, cello.
