DART - Buckner Station

Tamitha Curiel will be traveling the DART Greenline starting at Buckner station doing a ritual performance that honors three elderly Pleasant Grove women: her grandmother, her neighbor, and her local laundromat attendant.

Decolonize Dallas is a series of events and exhibitions that activate historical memory through culture in four contested sites throughout the city of Dallas during Dallas Arts Month, April 1st - April 30th, 2017. Decolonize Dallas, initiated by Michelada Think Tank, focuses on cultural producers and communities on the margins to reshape dominant narratives of identity and history in Dallas. Decolonize Dallas will take place in Vickery Meadow (American Heritage Indian Day, Ash Studios, Trans.lation Vickery Meadow), West Dallas (Angela Faz, Christian Vasquez, Dark Moon Poetry and Arts), Pleasant Grove (Tamitha Curiel, Dom G. Jones, Montoya Williams), and Southern Dallas (Super Fantasy Mercado).
