Outdoor Painters Society

The Artists Showplace Gallery is delighted to host one of the premier art events of the season. Plein Air Southwest Salon is a juried competition, exhibition, and sale sponsored by the Outdoor Painters Society and showcased every April in Dallas. The annual event seeks to promote an appreciation for the process of en plen air, which is French for “in open air”. Most of the works were completed in a single painting session, painted outdoors on location, and are characterized by the bold use of color, design and the freshness of paint application.

The show runs from April 8 to May 13. The opening reception and presentation of awards will take place on Saturday, April 8, from 3 to 6 p.m. On Sunday, April 9, the gallery will be open from 1 to 5 p.m., with artist demonstrations from 2 to 4 p.m.
