Dr. Samuel Gilbert lived in Farmers Branch for nearly 30 years and served as the primary doctor for this area. But what kind of medicine did he practice? Come to the Historical Park’s Gilbert House to explore his tools and tricks. Everything from leeches and bloodletting, to amputations and home-made medicines. The Doctor’s wife, Julia Gilbert, will be on hand to show visitors what life was like in the 1800s and how her husband treated some of the most gruesome diseases and injuries of the day!
This event is family friendly. Guests are encouraged to ask questions and interact with their guide as much as they wish. More information available on our website at FBHistoricalPark.com or by contacting the Historical Park at 972.406.0184 or [email protected].
