The Art Deco Society of Dallas and Dallas Heritage Village are proud to announce the Third Annual Jazz Age Sunday Social. This promises to be the best one yet!
March 13th brings the return of the greatest vintage-inspired events Dallas has ever seen, and we want you to be there!
The Singapore Slingers and Razzmajazz Dixieland band will be performing traditional jazz for your listening and dancing pleasure...and here's the beautiful part!
We're very pleased to announce that the sensational Drew Nugent will be joining us from Philadelphia. Leader of Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society, Drew is Philadelphia's number one source for hot jazz music, and we couldn't be more excited about making him a part of the Sunday Social. Cornet, piano, vocals, he does it all! Visit Drew's page at:
Lots of rhythms sweet and hot, so don't forget your dancing shoes!
Bill Flynt and his steam calliope will be welcoming you at the gates - you'll know you're at the right place! Elaine Hewlett from the Rhythm Room will be teaching you the Charleston and other dances of the 1920s on our beautiful wooden dance floor. Amelia Fox Trot will be spinning 78 rpm records on vintage phonographs.
Dress in your finest whites and enjoy an afternoon unlike any other! Think vintage bathing beauties, walking whites, and parasols. Flappers and sheiks welcome, too. Come be a part in the true vintage party that all of Dallas looks forward to.
The afternoon also features antique cars, vintage clothing, croquet, a photo booth, and vintage vendors including Savannah Hoffman Designs, Ahoy! Cruises, and Old Fashioned Sweet Shoppe. There will be a contest for best dressed with prizes from local businesses.
We're encouraging everyone to bring a picnic- this is a lawn party, after all! Pack a basket at home, or swing through a local market. Should you find yourself pressed for time, food will be available from Easy Slider Truck. Please note that alcoholic beverages are not permitted on park premises during the event.
The Jazz Age Sunday Social is one of the highlights of the year, and we would love to see each and every one of you there. It all goes to a good cause, too - the JASS is a fundraiser for Dallas Heritage Village, which does great work in keeping the past alive here in Dallas.
Admission is still just $10 for ages 12 and up; kids under 12 are free.
Thanks to your support the previous two years, we've made the Jazz Age Sunday Social a reality, and we're doing it all over again - even bigger. See you there!
