2016 Merging Visions Exhibition

Patterson-Appleton Arts Center

Merging Visions is an annual, collaborative exhibition produced by the Denton Poet’s Assembly and the Visual Arts Society of Texas.  Since 2005, the two organizations have paired original poetry and art in a celebration of National Poetry Month in April.  Poems and Art come together to express mood, sensibility, or subject matter.  Both poetry and art benefit from the synchronistic paring of each other.

The public is invited to a free opening reception April 15, 5:30 – 7:30 PM.  Attendees can meet poets and artists and see special presentations in art, poetry, and music.  Poets will also read some of their poems at the reception. There will be plenty of food, fun, music and prizes. Attendees can also vote for The People's Choice Award at the reception.

The exhibit runs from April 15 to June 15, 2016 in the Meadows Gallery at the Patterson - Appleton Arts Center.  Regular hours after the reception are 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 1 to 5 pm,  Saturday and Sunday.

The Visual Arts Society of Texas (VAST), organized in 1975, is based in Denton, Texas, and functions as a non-profit, professional organization dedicated to supporting artists and visual arts in all mediums.
