SPRING GALLERY NIGHT Saturday March 25th, 2023 - 7 to 10 p.m.
The LOLAS is an an acronym for Little Old Ladies with Attitude. The project was begun on social media by Janet Sarnow in late 2022 and quickly spread across the US and to other countries. Each one is sewn and embellished by hand and tells her own story or a story about the maker. They were created in an environment of support. Every maker is also someone who encourages other people to be creative. We have a kind, supportive group. We use these pieces to make up funny stories, to talk about our own lives, and then to go and make another one just because it was so rewarding. To use that one piece of braid or button you always loved, and know that these are the people that would understand why you kept one button or three inches of braid for all those years. We know that using our hands to create frees up our hearts and minds.
