Named "a national treasure" by Variety, Lar Lubovitch is one of America’s most distinguished, versatile, and widely seen choreographers. Our once-in-a-lifetime performance spotlights his radiant choreography:
• Conversing with Brahms (World premiere). Inspired by the musical mysteries of Johannes Brahms’ poignant Piano Pieces, Opus 76, which will be performed by guest pianist José Antonio Cubela; • Concerto Six Twenty–Two (Dallas premiere). Created in 1986 at the height of the AIDS epidemic, this masterpiece holds at its heart the universally acclaimed and enchanting adagio for two men; and • Elemental Brubeck. Set to the quintessential jazz of Dave Brubeck, this irrepressible, exhilarating tribute to 1950s Hollywood musicals will energize and delight!
