Dallas College Galleries would like to invite students, faculty, and the surrounding community to join us at Mountain View Campus's Cliff Gallery with artist Kevin Owens for a reception on Monday, February 13 from 12 - 2 p.m.
STATEMENT - Kevin Owens is interested in the representation of landscape as a record of human actions imposed on the land. The deep illusionistic space of traditional landscape painting is disrupted through the division of the surface plane. Kevin chooses to paint images of the passing local scene and sites of personal historical significance. Working within the framework of meta-modernism, Kevin’s project makes use of non sequitur, sincerity, and sacredness. While also pulling inspiration from the historical philosophical/scientific notion of alchemy.
Mountain View Campus Cliff Gallery is located in building (W).
