The Concordia Choir In Concert

First Presbyterian Church of Dallas

The world-renowned Concordia Choir of Moorhead, Minnesota, directed by Dr. Michael Culloton, will perform at First Presbyterian Church of Dallas on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 7:30 pm. The concert is free and open to all.

The Concordia Choir continues to affirm its reputation as one of America’s finest a cappella choirs. Since 1920, the 64-voice choir has performed in nearly every major hall, including Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center, as well as numerous international venues, including St. Peter’s Basilica.

The choir is featured annually in the Emmy-winning Concordia Christmas Concerts, which are nationally broadcast on public television. The choir’s recordings are distributed by Concordia Recordings nationally, internationally, and through iTunes, making it one of the top-selling choirs in the country.

Dr. Michael Culloton is the fourth conductor in the choir’s illustrious history, assuming the role in 2020 following former conductor René Clausen’s retirement. Dr. Culloton serves as a guest conductor, clinician, and lecturer throughout the country. Along with his twin brother, Dr. Culloton is the co-editor of the Matthew and Michael Culloton Choral Series with Santa Barbara Music Publishing Inc. He has been recognized as the Minnesota ACDA Young Conductor of the Year and received the ACDA/VocalEssence Creative Programming Award for his work with the Choral Arts Ensemble of Rochester, Minn.

2023’s National Tour of the central United States spans 16 days and includes locations between San Antonio and Minneapolis. The choir will perform at two churches in the DFW metroplex: FPC Dallas on March 9 and at St. Stephen Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth on March 12. The program includes works by Stephen Paulus, Rosephanye Powell, Paul J. Christiansen, Carol Barnett, J.S. Bach, René Clausen, and more.
