Calling all movie buffs! Prepare to relive movies from the past as The Dallas Winds combines selections from unforgettable scores by iconic Hollywood composers with dramatic big-screen imagery. It's a film lover's dream! Five-time Grammy Award nominee, The Dallas Winds presents AT THE CINEMA with Artistic Director/Conductor Jerry Junkin on Tuesday, November 15th in the Meyerson Symphony Center.
Program Includes: The Magnificent Seven - Elmer Bernstein, Adagio and Phrygia from Spartacus - Aram Khachaturian, On Her Majesty's Secret Service - John Barry, and Casablanca Suite - Max Steiner. Plus you'll experience the World Premiere performance of the animated short film Echoes of the Past by American composer Michael Udow, the concert's special guest.
There's a free pre-show chat Windnotes with Professor Carol delivered by musicologist Dr. Carol Reynolds at 6:30 pm. Then at 7:15 pm the Dallas Winds brass & percussion sections perform a World Premiere fanfare in the main lobby, conducted by Ogechi Ukazu.
