Ro2 Art is proud to present the gallery’s first solo exhibition with multidisciplinary artist Lindsay McCulloch, titled Double Rainbow. The exhibition will open September 24 and remain on view through October 22, 2022, with an opening reception held at Ro2 Art in The Cedars, located at 1501 S. Ervay St, Dallas, TX, 75215 from 7-10PM.
In Double Rainbow, Lindsey McCulloch presents a series of dimensional paintings and paper works which stretch and investigate the boundaries of the medium. Informed by the history of non-objective painting, the work showcases, expands on, and purposefully upends formal painting traditions with a carefully crafted balance of gestural expression and surgical precision. As they push into the realm of sculpture, McCulloch’s pieces bypass the typical boundaries of the two-dimensional picture plane to question and subvert the mode of illusionism expected of painting. Double Rainbow sets out to occupy and renegotiate the perceived boundaries between artistic disciplines and denotations, inviting viewers to reconsider the way they experience and consider art.
