Perpendiculars is collection of short theater experiments in progress, including sketches, short plays, teen play, storytelling and folk ensemble. As we emerge to a post pandemic new normal, here are some thoughts towards the purpose of Perpendiculars. As social beings, we exhibit the natural tendency to thrive in circles where homogeneity in thought reigns supreme. Even in situations which compel us to be opinionated, we work hard to build a safe world around us that pertains to our shared philosophy. But is this homogeneity leading to a smug complacence where we have lost the appetite to ponder, ruminate and question? Is logical reasoning falling through the cracks for the mere sake of convivial co-existence? Do we still have it in us to jostle ourselves out of this docility and percolate the vision of creating a more socially conscious and deliberating, yet cohesive, society? Come, let’s get together and find out as we immerse ourselves in the plethora of emotions and ideas knitted deftly into each and every act presented as part of Perpendiculars! Let's get thinking!
