Social Impact Marketplace at Dwell with Dignity’s Thrift Studio

Thrift Studio is Dwell with Dignity’s annual month-long fundraiser event.  The pop-up will feature donated, high-end furniture, housewares, and accessories sold at significant discounts with 100% of sales benefiting the nonprofit.

When: September 3, 10, and 17, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Location: Thrift Studio Pop Up Shop, 1506 Market Center Blvd, Dallas, TX 75207

This year, Dwell with Dignity is launching the first-ever Social Impact Marketplace at Thrift Studio. On select Saturdays, the Marketplace will feature a  different local nonprofit and provide a space for them to sell their products. All proceeds will benefit the nonprofits directly, helping them secure critical funding and increase awareness for their organizations.

The nonprofits featured at the Marketplace include:

  • September 3: The Worthy Co, The Net’s social enterprise that empowers women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction, will offer survivor-made goods like jewelry, candles, and more. 100% of every purchase provides dignified and sustainable employment for survivors of trafficking at The Worthy Co.

  • September 10: The Welman Project, which serves as a free resource, distributing surplus materials from local companies for creative reuse in the classroom and beyond, will offer collage packs with vintage ephemera, kits for little makers to dream big, and repurposed objects redesigned for unique home decor. The packs will support waste reduction in Dallas-Fort Worth and free supplies for teachers.

  • September 17:
My Possibilities, the leader in vocational education for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in North Texas, will feature natural home and body care products from Soap Hope. Soap Hope trains, employs and supports My Possibility students. Profits generated will help fund My Possibilities’ nonprofit work.
Howdy Homemade, which aims to employ individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, providing them with the opportunity to learn valuable skills behind the counter, will serve a selection of their delicious ice cream.

Throughout the entire month at Thrift Studio, shoppers will find stunning vignettes curated by leading designers, showrooms, and retailers, showcasing the donated high-end furniture and home decor pieces available for purchase at significant discounts. All proceeds will benefit Dwell with Dignity’s mission of transforming lives through design.

The designers selected include Burkle Creative, Hayslip Design, Jena Salmon, Kristin Mullen, Lark Interiors, The Loveliest Home, ML Interiors Group, Peacock Alley, and Scout Design Studio. Thrift Studio also curates original works of art donated by local artists, and this year, they’ll showcase over 65 pieces that will be available for purchase during the pop-up.

Since the concept launched in Dallas in 2011, the event has grown into a highly anticipated and can’t-miss philanthropic event for Dwell with Dignity supporters, the interior design community, and the general public looking for a fabulous deal on home furnishings. The event brings in one-third of the operating revenue that allows the non-profit organization to change lives through design by bringing transformational interior design services to those who can afford it the least.
