Mini Movement Fest 2022

Arts Mission Oak Cliff

Mini Movement Fest (MMF) is a one-day long dance festival at Arts Mission Oak Cliff. This festival holds a specials place in our hearts because it served as a catalyst for the formation of Agora Artists. Each festival we invite guest artists based in Texas to teach and perform their work in Oak Cliff. Our mission is to provide a safe, community-centered space for the invited artists to share their pedagogy and performance work with new audiences. The festival is simultaneously an opportunity for local dancers to work with new artists, creating opportunities for connection in the greater Texas dance community.

MMF includes four (4) movement workshops and an evening event. The workshops are led by both local and visiting Festival Artists and open to participants of all experience levels high school age and older for only $5 per workshop. MMF 2022 Festival Artists include Alexandra Hernandez (Dallas, TX), Cami Holman (Denton, TX), and Kelsey Oliver (Austin, TX).

The evening event is FREE and open to the public as a part of Agora Artists new ticketing philosophy, where audiences are empowered to support in whatever way they can. The evening event includes drinks and artist vendors in the garden before a performance by the Festival Artists. Patrons are invited to sip on the curated MMF Cocktail and to view and shop works by local artist vendors. Inside AMOC’s historic sanctuary, the Festival Artists will share a variety of dance-based performances. The festival will conclude with music by DJ Amarji and mingling.
