Robocop: A 35th Anniversary Retrospective

Dallas Public Library, J. Erik Jonsson Central Library - Dallas History & Archives Division

The 1987 blockbuster Robocop was filmed in Dallas, featuring iconic views of the skyline, City Hall and more. Robocop tells the story of a robotically enhanced police officer fighting crime and corporate corruption in a near-future dystopian Detroit, but Dallas was chosen for the setting, in-part for the city's futuristic look.

Now 35 years, celebrate the 35th anniversary of the iconic classic as some of the cast and crew reunite to discuss the film.

The live panel will appear virtually via Zoom.

Panel members include: Nancy Allen (co-star), writers Ed Neumeier (co-producer) and Michael Miner, Gregor Punchatz (special effects robot team).

Special guest by pre-recorded interview, director Paul Verhoeven.

With moderator Robert Wilonsky.

Register to watch remotely or join us at the Central Library's 7th floor O'Hara Hall, located directly across the street from Omni Consumer Products (City Hall), to watch the live stream of the panel with other fans.

But wait, the fun doesn't stop there... a free screening of Robocop will take place at the Texas Theater at 5:30 p.m. on July 16. To register for free tickets to the film screening, click here:
