ADULT ART WORKSHOP: Coconut + Soy Candle Making

Instructor Taylor Evans teaches students the basics of container candlemaking using soy and coconut wax. A selection of dyes, fragrances, and containers will be provided so participants can make two scented candles. Taylor will share here tips for choosing and upcycling unique jars collected at thrift stores and flea markets.She will demonstrate how to melt wax using a table top wax melter with a spigot, discuss the differences between paraffin and soy/coconut waxes and demystify how to choose and attach wicks, introduce student to combining fragrances and adding dyes and how to remove molds and finish candles. Leave the workshop with a foundational knowledge of candle making, two dreamy candles and a list of resources for supplies. All materials included. No experience necessary. 

Instructor Bio:
Taylor Evans has been making candles for four years and teaching workshops for two. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in economics in 2016. She lives in Lower Greenville with her cute pets.
