OVO is a touring circus production by Cirque du Soleil that premiered in Montréal, Canada, in 2009. OVO's creator and director, Deborah Colker, took inspiration from the world of insects. The idea for Ovo was not to be about the acts, nor dancing, nor insects, but about movement. The show plunges the audience into the hidden universe alive at our feet; an ecosystem teeming with life and unseen beings - insects that work, eat, crawl, flutter, feast, fight and court among each other in an ongoing explosion of energy and movement. Like most of Cirque du Soleil’s shows, OVO is meant to entertain the whole family. That said, moments of loud noises and darkness used during the show may frighten some children. OVO is a two hour performance, including a 20 minute intermission.
