39th Annual Black Music and the Civil Rights Movement Concert


Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center

This concert tribute dramatizes and reflects on the moments and memories of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. With a jazz-gospel style that draws comparisons to Ella Fitzgerald, Kim Burrell has claimed titles including Dove and Stellar Awards, and serves as Senior Eldress of The Love & Liberty Fellowship Pentecostal Overcoming Holy Church. Conceived and produced by Curtis King, Conducted by John Mark Tatum, Pat Kessee and Pastor Clark Jospeh. Supported by CBS 11/TXA 21.
