SCHOOL'S OUT Kids Art Camp: MLK Day

Oil and Cotton Creative Exchange

Art Camp when School is OUT!
When: Monday, January 17, 9-12pm
Where: NEW BUILDING 2313 Beatrice Ave.
Age: 5-12

Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by reading and responding creatively to one of his great speeches. Given to a group of junior high students in 1967, this speech includes the famous call to action: "Number one in your life's blueprint, should be a deep belief in your own dignity, your worth and your own somebodiness. Don't allow anybody to make you fell that you're nobody. Always feel that you count. Always feel that you have worth, and always feel that your life has ultimate significance." In this three-hour art camp, we will tackle some of these ideas and make art to manifest our somebodinesses, set goals, communicate with each other, and represent our ideas in drawing and sculpture. And we'll snack, listen to music, hang out, and have fun too!
