Experience the DMA’s Slip Zone exhibition presented as an original commissioned suite of dance through the dazzling vision of Joy Bollinger, Artistic Director of Bruce Wood Dance. Traveling through the dripping lines and pulsing hues, the Slip Zone Suite explores the journey of the Abstract Expressionists through the lens of dynamic movement relationships. In a series of solos, duets, and ensembles, the dances capture the vivid swirls of color, the bursts of shape, and the serenity of monochrome.
Joy Bollinger has performed in more than 50 works with Bruce Wood Dance before taking the helm as Artistic Director. A distinguished choreographer, her work Carved in Stone “stunned audiences and critics with its lyricism” according to the Dallas Morning News.
